SHAH ALAM, Oct 9 — About 1.3 million civil servants will receive a special RM1,500 payout, while pensioners will receive RM750 under Budget 2027, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today.
He said civil servants involved are those of Premier Grade B and below, including contract appointees.
“My sincere appreciation to 1.6 million civil servants for their dedication in fulfilling their responsibility to serve the nation. They are the driving force behind the Madani aspiration to elevate the dignity, standing and progress of this country to greater heights,” he said when tabling Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat today.
The RM750 aid for pensioners will benefit more than one million recipients, including veterans with and without pensions.
Both payments will be disbursed in two phases next year, with the first before Aidilfitri and the second before Merdeka.
The announcement adds to the government’s measures in support of public sector employees and retirees under Budget 2027, following earlier initiatives, including raising the minimum pension to RM1,350 a month, allocating RM2.3 billion for quarters repairs, and providing up to 98 days of maternity leave per child.
