KOTA KINABALU, Oct 7 — The mother of the late Zara Qairina Mahathir, Noraidah Lamat, 46, appeared as the 82nd witness today in the inquest into her daughter's death at the Coroner's Court here.
Noraidah arrived at the court at about 9 am to testify before Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan.
She is one of the final two witnesses called to testify in the inquest, with investigating officer Inspector Wong Yew Zhung expected to take the stand after her.
Yesterday, Zara Qairina's half-sister, Malianah Mahathir, 25, appeared as the 81st witness and testified about her relationship with Zara Qairina and their family.
Zara Qairina died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 17, 2025, a day after the Form One student was found unconscious near a drain at her school hostel at 4 am.
