KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 2 — The 2026 Formula 1 (F1) Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix (GP) in Malaysia, which begins tomorrow, will be broadcast live on Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the move would allow the excitement of the world-class race to be shared and enjoyed by Malaysians across the country.
“Great news for all Malaysians! RTM will broadcast the 2026 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia live so that we can all share in the excitement of the race.
“I hope this live broadcast gives people in every corner of the country the opportunity to experience the thrill of world-class racing from the Sepang International Circuit (SIC),” he said in a Facebook post.
Yesterday, Anwar participated in the Pit Lane Walk held in conjunction with the race and discussed preparations for the event with Bahrain Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
SIC was selected to host the 2026 F1 Gulf Air Bahrain GP, making the iconic circuit the temporary venue for the prestigious Bahraini race.
In July, Formula 1 confirmed Malaysia as host of the race from October 2 to 4, following an agreement between Formula 1, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), and the governments of Malaysia and Bahrain.
