SHAH ALAM, Sept 29 — Haze has worsened nationwide this afternoon, with unhealthy air quality recorded at more locations, including across Selangor.
According to data from the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, 32 areas recorded unhealthy API readings as of 1pm, compared with 27 in the morning.
In Selangor, all six areas recorded unhealthy air quality. Johan Setia recorded the highest reading at 171, followed by Shah Alam (167), Klang (162), Banting (159), Petaling Jaya (156) and Kuala Selangor (156).
Nationwide, Serian in Sarawak recorded the highest API reading at 174, followed by Larkin, Johor (172), Pasir Gudang, Johor (172), Bandaraya Melaka (172) and Nilai, Negeri Sembilan (172).
Other parts of the Klang Valley were also affected by haze, with Cheras, Kuala Lumpur recording an API reading of 167, followed by Putrajaya (163) and Batu Muda (154).
A total of 30 areas recorded moderate API readings, while six recorded good air quality.
An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, while readings above 300 are hazardous.
