PUTRAJAYA, Sept 28 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has submitted several governance improvement recommendations to the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) and two of its subsidiaries to enhance transparency in implementing the Agro Park (Commercial) Project and the Cattle Trading Pilot Project.
It said these recommendations were presented through its Governance Investigation Division to FELDA, FIC Supplies Sdn Bhd, and FIC Integrated Property Management (FIC IPM).
Among the recommendations is restructuring FIC IPM's role as an independent advisory panel to ensure the views and advice provided are more objective, transparent, and free from conflicts of interest.
The MACC also recommended that FELDA establish specific standard operating procedures for procurement methods via Requests for Proposal and variation orders, and improve transaction procedures at FIC Supplies to strengthen internal controls and transparency.
"FELDA and its subsidiaries welcome the recommendations and have committed to implementing them in stages," it said in a Facebook post today.
The agreement on these recommendations was finalised through a Governance Improvement Report signed by FELDA Deputy Director General of Services Muhammad Fitri Othman, FIC Group Chief Executive Officer Syed Fadil Syed Sofi, and MACC Governance Investigation Division Director Datuk Mohazaki Hassan.
