JEMPOL, Sept 25 — The Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, graciously witnessed the pledge of loyalty and support for him, recited by Gabungan Islam Se-Malaysia Secretariat Chairman Che Rus Husin at Masjid Bahau Jamek today.
Che Rus recited the pledge after the Friday prayers at the mosque, which Tuanku Muhriz attended with more than 300 congregants.
His Royal Highness’ arrival at the mosque was also accompanied by Tunku Besar Seri Menanti Tunku Ali Redhauddin.
Earlier, Tuanku Muhriz and the congregants listened to a sermon titled "Blessed Are Those Who Purify Their Souls," with the Friday prayers led by imam Suhaimi Mohamad.
The pledge of loyalty and support to His Royal Highness represents Gabungan Melayu Islam Malaysia and more than 30 other non-governmental organisations' coalitions, stating their stance of continuing to support Tuanku Muhriz in facing the ongoing crisis.
Speaking to the media later, Che Rus said the crisis had dragged on for too long, causing confusion among the rakyat, not only in Negeri Sembilan but throughout the country.
He added that they hope the crisis can be resolved amicably in accordance with established customs and laws, to ensure the continued preservation of harmony and well-being for the people of Negeri Sembilan.
