KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 — The Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) 2026 is not only gathering halal industry players, but also giving visitors the opportunity to explore a wide range of halal products and services.
First-time visitor Adriana Batrisyia Mohmad Telmezi, 27, said her interest in the event was driven by a desire to learn more about halal products on the market.
“I have been here since 10am and I found many interesting things, including products that we thought were not halal but actually have halal status.
“As Muslims, it is important for us to know the status of the products we use,” she told Media Selangor.

Meanwhile, Nurul Fatihah Zulkarnain, 25, said the proximity of the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), where MIHAS is being held, to her workplace drew her to experience something new.
She said the China Pavilion was among the attractions that caught her attention, as it features various products from China that are halal certified.
“I did not expect that many of their products are actually halal. It is really interesting and I have already spent more than two hours here,” she said.

For Umar Alfarouq Jaafar Shidek, 28, who has attended MIHAS several times, he visits the event to keep up with developments in the halal market.
He said food and beverage (F&B) products were among the highlights that caught his attention at this year’s event.
“Events like this are important because they can increase awareness among traders to obtain halal certification, while also helping visitors learn about more halal products available in the market,” he said.

The 22nd MIHAS is being held at MITEC until Saturday, and features 1,700 companies and 2,400 exhibition booths, with the event expected to attract 50,000 visitors from 45 countries.
The event is organised by the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI) and coordinated by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
