SHAH ALAM, Sept 22 — Malay reserve land in Selangor has expanded by 1,084.6ha since 2018, from 162,161.98ha to 163,246.54ha, since Pakatan Harapan took over the state administration, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
In a statement today, he also clarified several questions brought up yesterday around Malay reserve land in Sabak Bernam.
He added that 22.41ha of land in Tanjong Karang there was gazetted on September 3 for the Sabak Bernam Development Area (SABDA).
“To balance local growth with Malay interests, land of the same area, (22.41ha) in Hulu Selangor, has also undergone gazettement as Malay reserve land,” he said.
Amirudin explained that SABDA is the state government’s effort to develop Selangor’s northern corridor to improve food security and maximise agrotourism potential on the west coast, as well as create jobs for locals.
He said the effort is led by Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, and involves local communities including fishermen, entrepreneurs and academicians.
