SHAH ALAM, Sept 22 – Air quality in Selangor has improved to moderate levels, with all monitoring stations in the state recording moderate API reading as of 12pm today.
According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), six stations in Selangor recorded moderate readings, namely Shah Alam (95), Petaling Jaya and Johan Setia (91), Klang (80), Banting (79), and Kuala Selangor (68).
The portal showed 54 areas with moderate API readings nationwide.
In the Klang Valley, Putrajaya recorded a moderate reading of 98, followed by Cheras (91), and Batu Muda (85).
At the national level, the portal recorded ten areas in Sarawak with unhealthy readings, with Sibu recording the highest at 177, followed by Sri Aman (171), Mukah (170), IPD Serian (159), Sarikei (158), Kuching (157), Bintulu (156), Samalaju and Samarahan (154), and Kapit (153).
Four stations nationwide recorded good air quality with Kangar logging in at 47, Langkawi (44), Tanah Merah (41), and Balik Pulau (40)
API readings of zero to 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 301 and above hazardous.
