SHAH ALAM, Sept 21 — Shah Alam and Johan Setia remain at unhealthy API readings as of 5pm today, according to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal.
It also reported 17 areas with unhealthy air quality levels nationwide. Shah Alam recorded an API level of 134, followed by Johan Setia (107).
Ten areas in Sarawak recorded API readings at unhealthy level, with Kapit recorded the highest reading at 173, followed by Sibu and Sri Aman (164), IPD Serian (162), Bintulu (161), Samalaju (158), Kuching (158), Samarahan (156), Miri (152), and Mukah (142)
In the Klang Valley, Cheras recorded an API reading at 156 and Putrajaya reading recorded at 154.
There are 44 stations recorded at the moderate levels including Banting (95), Petaling Jaya (94), Klang (86), and Kuala Selangor (69).
Seven areas nationwide recorded good air quality with Tasek Ipoh in Perak recording the highest reading at 50, followed by Jerantut (49) in Pahang, Seri Manjung (44) in Perak, Langkawi in Kedah, Minden (43) in Penang, Besut (38) in Terengganu, and Balik Pulau (31) in Penang.
API readings of zero to 50 indicate good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 301 and above hazardous.
