Yeoh denies signing viral Najib house arrest order

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh has denied signing any house arrest order involving former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak that has been circulating on social media.

Yeoh made the denial in a post on her X account early today.

“I have never signed any house arrest order as claimed in the document. The Pardons Board had yet to convene when it surfaced. Please do not spread this fake document. My press secretary has lodged a report with the authorities,” she said in the post.

In the same post, Yeoh also shared a screenshot confirming that a report had been lodged with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) over the matter.

Earlier, a document purported to be a house arrest order involving Najib and bearing Yeoh’s signature went viral on social media.

Istana Negara has been the focus of media attention since early this morning as journalists followed developments surrounding the 64th Meeting of the Pardons Board for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
