SHAH ALAM, Sept 18 — Police have traced seven children aged between eight and 13 after a video showing a group of children fighting in Tudan Desaras Phase 6, Miri, went viral on social media.
Miri district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said police received a report over the 44-second video, which showed the incident that occurred at about 5 pm on Wednesday in front of the home of one of the children involved.
“Police have traced all the individuals in the video, involving seven children aged between eight and 13.
“They are all friends and often play together,” he said, as quoted by BH Online.
Mohd Farhan said preliminary investigations found that the fight broke out after one of the children was believed to have been mocked by the victim using abusive words, leaving the child’s friend upset.
“The victim was then kicked and pushed by other children during the incident.
“However, the victim was reported to have suffered no serious injuries,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
