Johan Setia logs highest API reading in Malaysia at 188

SHAH ALAM, Sept 15 — Six areas in Selangor logged unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings at 4pm today, with Johan Setia recording a 188 score, the highest nationwide.

According to the API Management System (APIMS) portal, the other five areas are Shah Alam (173), Klang (167), Petaling Jaya (166), Banting (164), and Kuala Selangor (163).

Johan Setia’s worst API reading in Malaysia was followed by Kuala Lumpur’s Cheras (177) and Negeri Sembilan’s Nilai (176).

Sarawak’s Serian IPD, which previously recorded the worst readings, logged 171.

Thirty other towns across Malaysia also had unhealthy readings, while 29 logged moderate readings.

On the API, a reading of 0 to 50 is good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and anything above 300 is hazardous.
