SHAH ALAM, Sept 13 — Three Selangor local authorities (PBT) have received recognition under the 2026 Local Authority Star Rating System (SPB-PBT), which was announced yesterday.
Dato’ Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) secured first place in the City Council category, while Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) came second in the Municipal Council category.
Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB) meanwhile secured third place in the District Council category.
The recognition was announced during the 2026 National Local Authority Convention and World Environmental Health Day Celebration.
“This recognition reflects the commitment of all staff members of the three local authorities in strengthening governance and improving the quality of service delivery to the people,” he said in a Facebook post.
Amirudin hoped the achievements would serve as a catalyst for all local authorities in Selangor to continue providing efficient, responsive and integrity-driven services.
He said the true recognition would come when the efforts and achievements of the local authorities were felt by the people through a cleaner, safer, more sustainable and comfortable environment.
“Well done and congratulations,” he said.
