KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 — Serian IPD in Sarawak recorded an Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in the very unhealthy category at 236 as of 4pm today.
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, four areas in Sarawak had unhealthy readings — Sri Aman (199), Samarahan (179), Kuching (174) and Sarikei (115).
Fifty areas nationwide had moderate API readings, while another 12 areas had good readings.
An API reading of between zero and 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, while 301 and above is hazardous.
