KUCHING, Sept 11 — Post-mortems on all five victims of the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) helicopter crash in Long Lellang last Tuesday were completed at 7.30 pm yesterday.
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the cause of death for all five victims was severe burn injuries sustained in the helicopter crash.
“For now, we are awaiting the results of the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples for scientific confirmation,” he told Bernama.
On Tuesday, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said a BO-105 helicopter carrying five people, including the pilot, had crashed near the Long Lellang Short Take-Off and Landing Airport (STOLport).
The victims were pilot Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, 30; medical officer Dr Ainul Baraah Kamaruddin, 33; medical assistant Alexson Adit Henry, 31; and nurses Debra Moset, 40, and Jessie Paya Jok, 44.
