SHAH ALAM, 10 SEPT: The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) has announced the cancellation of the MAIS 2026 Run, scheduled to take place on September 13, at Dataran Kemerdekaan, Shah Alam.
MAIS Corporate Communications division said the cancellation of the run was due to the Air Pollution Index (API) which is still high and unhealthy, making it dangerous for outdoor sports activities.
"As the organiser, MAIS together with strategic partner Shah Alam City Council prioritises the safety and health of the community, participants, staff and all parties involved in organising the programme.
"MAIS once again apologises and thanks all parties involved for their patience, support and cooperation," the council said in a Facebook post today.
Following that, MAIS has informed that running kits (shirts, bibs and medals) for registered participants can be claimed on September 12 and 13 at the Badminton Court (Level 1), Decathlon, Shah Alam.
For September 12, the collection time is from 10am to 6pm while the collection timing for September 13, is from 10am to 2pm.
MAIS also clarified that representatives are allowed to collect the kit on behalf of the participants and they would only need to bring their participation tickets.
