KUALA SELANGOR, Sept 2 — KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM) has allocated nearly RM15 million to enhance domestic waste collection and public cleansing in Kuala Selangor as the municipality’s population grows and new developments spring up.
KDEBWM managing director Dato’ Ramli Mohd Tahir said the allocation would allow the firm to increase its assets and expand its scope of services to better manage residents’ higher waste volume.
He added that domestic waste collection services in the district have been expanded from 12 zones to 22, with 21 trash compactors and an arm roll truck, as well as collection services at seven public markets.
“We have projected (increased) waste generated (from) the (growing) number of houses in this district. That’s why we have to make new investments by mobilising new assets: to ensure all waste produced in Kuala Selangor can be better and more efficiently managed,” Ramli told reporters after signing a waste collection deal with MPKS here today.
Also present was MPKS president Mohamad Hanafe Basri.
Ramli added that KDEBWM’s public cleansing scope in Kuala Selangor has been expanded from 13 zones to 24, with 24 arm roll trucks, under a deal effective March 1, 2026, to February 28, 2033.
He said Kuala Selangor’s growth over the past seven years saw MPKS being upgraded from district council.
“More people are coming to live here, it is developing, it is neater, nicer, and more new areas are coming up.
“We will try to improve periodically to ensure Kuala Selangor is better than it was seven years ago when we started operating here,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hanafe said MPKS welcomes the continued cooperation with KDEBWM and hopes waste collection in the district is done more efficiently.
“We hope all quarters continue to work together and perform their duties quicker and more efficiently. For MPKS, the main thing is to ensure the people receive quality, consistent and standard-compliant services,” he added.
