SHAH ALAM, Sept 2 — Selangor recorded RM70 billion in approved investments across 835 projects in the first half of 2026 (1H 2026), maintaining its position as the country’s top investment destination.
State executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han said Selangor’s strong performance in the first half of the year reflected its growing appeal to high-value industries.
“The services sector in Selangor has successfully attracted high-value industries such as data analytics, cloud computing, cybersecurity, financial technology (FinTech) and the Internet of Things (IoT), while also providing high-quality jobs for the people of Selangor.
“From building a digital ecosystem to strengthening the semiconductor, aerospace and mobility industries, Selangor continues to move quickly towards becoming a competitive economic hub in the region.
“More investments coming in mean more opportunities for SMEs and more jobs created,” he said in a Facebook post.
The RM70 billion recorded in 1H 2026 represented a 101 per cent increase from RM34.8 billion in approved investments during the same period last year.
In the first quarter of this year, Selangor recorded RM33.5 billion in approved investments.
Ng thanked Invest Selangor Bhd, the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC) and state civil servants for their efforts in contributing to the state’s investment achievements.
