PETALING JAYA, Aug 27 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is gathering information on residents’ needs and priorities to determine the focus and planning for Budget 2027.

Petaling Jaya Mayor Dato' Mohd Yazid Sairi said their welfare and needs were among the matters being prioritised to identify areas for improvement ahead of next year.

“This process will be assessed comprehensively across all areas of Petaling Jaya and will not be limited to specific zones.

“The focus is indeed on the needs of the community. Where we identify shortcomings, we will make improvements ahead of 2027,” he said after the MBPJ full council meeting and the swearing-in ceremony for councillors today.

Yazid added that the local authority will also enhance existing policies and their implementation to ensure the quality of services provided to residents continues to improve.

“MBPJ is indeed a reference point for other local authorities in Malaysia, and has even attracted attention from overseas due to the way we work and because we are often regarded as a benchmark,” he said.

As such, MBPJ will continue to assess identified shortcomings and take appropriate improvement measures to ensure the best possible services are provided to the community.
