“For (our) outstanding performance in SUKMA 2026, and as a token of appreciation for every athlete and the around 10,000 volunteers who have helped throughout this tournament, I am pleased to announce that the Selangor state government is declaring a special occasional holiday for the SUKMA victory.
“The special occasional holiday has been set for September 1, 2026, which is next Tuesday,” Amirudin said.
The state contingent won 245 medals, comprising 101 gold, 73 silver and 71 bronze awards, far surpassing its 80-gold target.
