
SHAH ALAM, Aug 24 — Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah is scheduled to officiate the closing ceremony of the Malaysia Games (SUKMA) 2026 at Aneka Walk, here, tonight.
His Highness is expected to arrive at 8.45pm before joining the VVIP procession to the main stage to officially begin the ceremony.
Also scheduled to attend are Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and Youth and Sports Minister Mohammed Taufiq Johari.
The ceremony will feature the singing of the Selangor state anthem and Negaraku, cultural performances, the official Selangor SUKMA 2026 song “Rentak Kita, Aksi Kita”, as well as a march-past by all 15 participating contingents.
The highlight of the ceremony at 10.15pm will see Tengku Amir Shah presenting the Best Female Athlete, Best Male Athlete and Overall Champion awards for the 22nd SUKMA.
He is then scheduled to deliver the closing declaration at 10.25pm, officially marking the end of SUKMA 2026.
Selangor remained at the top of the medal tally as of 11.25am today with 97 gold, 72 silver and 69 bronze medals, for a total of 238 medals.
After Selangor, the hosting baton will pass to Kelantan, which was selected to host the 23rd SUKMA in 2028.
