SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 – An electrical cable storage store in Jalan Kunci Air, Padang Jawa, was destroyed by about 80 per cent in a fire last night.
MalaysiaGazette reported that Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) senior assistant operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said his department received a call on the incident at 11.11pm.
Following the report, 21 personnel and officers were deployed to the location to carry out extinguishing operations.
“The operation involved personnel from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) with assistance from the Klang Selatan BBP and Bukit Jelutong BBP as well as machinery.
"Once the fire personnel arrived at the scene, which was 10km away, they found that the fire involved a storage room for electrical cables in a Class C building measuring 50 x 70 square feet.
"A review found that the fire involved approximately 80 per cent of the entire building and no casualties were reported in the incident," he said in a statement today.
Based on the inspection, the fire only involved the building with no casualties reported.
Ashrul added that JBPM continued the fire extinguishing operations to ensure that the blaze could be fully controlled.
