KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to be discharged from hospital today after receiving treatment, his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said.
The Bandar Tun Razak MP said Anwar expressed his appreciation to everyone who had prayed for his health and well-being.
“PMX sends his regards and thanked everyone who has prayed for his health and recovery,” she told reporters after the Semarak Merdeka event at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s (DBKL) Bandar Tun Razak branch here.
Anwar underwent an elective laparoscopic surgical procedure to treat a para-umbilical hernia on Monday.
