SHAH ALAM, Aug 10 — CEO Circle 26 is a platform to strengthen the alignment of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, to ensure THRIVE28 and Second Selangor Plan (RS-2) goals are realised, said MBI Group chief executive officer Dato’ Saipolyazan M. Yusop.
He added that every leader must understand shared priorities and ensure their organisations move in the same direction to accomplish established targets.
He said THRIVE28 and RS-2 aren’t just on paper, but demand change in leadership methodology and decision-making processes among MBI Group leaders.
“In RS-2, MBI is involved in two missions and it demands a change in how we lead and make decisions.
“As CEOs or top leaders in companies, we are not only responsible for ensuring our companies’ performance, but also to ensure each priority coordinates with MBI Group’s overall goal,” he said in a speech at CEO Circle 26 at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur today.

On August 7, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari tabled RS-2, which will guide Selangor’s development until 2030 with six missions involving 25 fields and 98 initiatives.
Previously, Saipolyazan said MBI aims to earn RM8 billion by 2028 under THRIVE28, adding that each leader must coordinate priorities, expedite decision-making processes, and translate each plan into results that contribute to MBI’s overall success.
“Through this alignment, we want to ensure each company in MBI Group moves in one direction and presents greater impact to the organisation and the state,” he explained.
He added that MBI conducts the Investment Performance Review (IPR) on its subsidiaries every quarter to ensure targets are achieved.
“The IPR performance is between 95 and 97 per cent under an alignment (exercise) conducted among subsidiaries.
“This shows the clear importance of alignment; so each organisation understands their roles and ensures performance is on track,” he said.
Saipolyazan also said efforts to improve MBI subsidiaries’ performance are also important so the group may maximise the state’s revenue and help the Selangor government carry out more initiatives for the people’s benefit.
