SHAH ALAM, Aug 8 — The Selangor Delivery and Governance System Reform (RSTU) will serve as a key driver in transforming the state administration towards a more efficient, transparent, and responsive system.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said RSTU encompasses eight strategic areas of reform: strengthening governance and integrity, breaking down siloed working cultures, empowering human capital, and implementing an outcome-based evaluation system.

The reforms are part of the state government's efforts to strengthen the public service delivery system, making it more effective, agile, and responsive to people's needs.

"RSTU will be a key driver of transformation for our administrative machinery. Through eight strategic areas of reform, it aims to transform Selangor's public service delivery into a more efficient, transparent, and agile system," he said during the tabling of the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2) at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Speed Selangor Policy will be implemented to expedite the planning and development approval process in the state.

Under it, the approval period for planning permission for designated industrial areas will be shortened from three and a half months to just 14 working days.

The move is expected to directly benefit investors and members of the public dealing with the state government, particularly in matters relating to planning and development.

Meanwhile, RS-2's sixth mission focuses on establishing an effective administration that is responsive to the people and business-friendly.

It forms the foundation of the state government's efforts to maintain Selangor's competitiveness through four key areas and 13 initiatives outlined in RS-2.

The state government is confident that implementing these initiatives will strengthen the public service delivery system and ensure that matters involving the public and business sectors are handled more quickly and efficiently.
