SHAH ALAM, Aug 7 — To improve public services, Selangor is requiring its 12 local councils to achieve a score of 95 per cent and above under the local authority rating system by 2030, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
“By 2030, we need to … ensure all 12 PBTs in Selangor are targeted to achieve a SPB-PBT (Local Authority Star Rating System) score of 95 per cent and above. High public service standards are not a privilege for certain areas, but an experience enjoyed equally by every citizen throughout the state.
“We will also continue to drive digitalisation initiatives by targeting end-to-end digital government service sharing towards the target of 85 per cent.
“This is so digital data-sharing and public services are more efficient, responsive and based on good governance principles,” he said when tabling the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2) at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly today.
He stressed that local authorities must provide attention and good treatment towards all forms of complaints and information received, whether on social media or directly.
“All local councils must work harder to improve services and efficiency and it should be a priority of every local authority in Selangor.
“Local authorities must be seen as proactive in facing the current challenges of urbanisation and the well-being of the people.
“I urge all local authorities in the state to respond to this call so we can create a sustainable and inclusive, developed and prosperous Selangor for all its citizens,” Amirudin said.
