SHAH ALAM, August 7 — The state will expand the implementation of its Central Data Warehouse (CaWah) under the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2), integrating critical data from state departments and agencies to strengthen data-driven governance and policymaking.

Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative will enhance Selangor's digital transformation by enabling more efficient and informed decision-making.

"The expansion of the Central Data Warehouse (CaWah) will integrate critical state data from various departments and agencies, while supporting data-driven decision-making," he said when tabling RS-2 during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting today.

The initiative falls under RS-2’s “Mission Six: A People-First, Business-Friendly and Effective Government.”

Amirudin added that the state government will also accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) through the Teraju AI programme and the Selangor AI Incubation Centre under the Selangor International Innovation Centre of Excellence (SLIICE), managed by the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC).

"The adoption and acceleration of AI through the Teraju AI programme and the Selangor AI Incubation Centre will accelerate the use of artificial intelligence in state governance.

"The development of AI products for government agencies, professional AI certification for the workforce, as well as an incubation platform to build a comprehensive AI ecosystem in Selangor will be implemented through this programme," he said.

The Menteri Besar noted that the Central Spatial Data Platform (CSDP), developed with the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA), will strengthen geospatial data-driven policymaking.

The Selangor Urban Observatory (SUO) will also integrate the Internet of Things (IoT) technology and big data for smarter urban monitoring.

On public service delivery, the Selangor State Governance Reform (RSTU) will transform the state administration through eight strategic reform areas to create a more efficient, transparent, and agile public service.

Amirudin said that the Speed Selangor Policy will reduce planning permission approvals for planned industrial areas to 14 working days from 3.5 months, thus directly benefiting investors and the public dealing with the state government.
