SHAH ALAM, July 30 — The Second Selangor Plan (RS-2) will serve as a strategic development document and a compass for the state’s development agenda in the years ahead, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said RS-2 is not merely a development plan, but a comprehensive framework that will guide the state’s economic policies, social wellbeing, environmental sustainability, infrastructure development and digital transformation.

“Additionally, it will strengthen governance to ensure Selangor continues to remain the country’s economic leader.

“I hope the tabling of RS-2 at the upcoming State Legislative Assembly sitting will receive the support of all assemblymen.

“I also welcome mature, constructive and fact-based debates so that every view can further strengthen the contents of RS-2, ensuring Selangor’s development planning truly benefits the people,” he said in a Facebook post last night.

Previously, the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) served as the state’s five-year development plan to drive economic growth, improve public wellbeing, strengthen environmental sustainability and enhance governance until 2025.

Under RS-1, a total of 282 projects, programmes and initiatives (PPIs) were introduced, with 79 per cent fully implemented as of December 31, 2025.

Earlier, Amirudin chaired the Pre-Council Meeting and Briefing Session on Bills, in conjunction with the Second Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly 2026, in preparation for the state assembly sitting scheduled to take place next week.

He said the meeting was important to coordinate the state government’s position on bills to be tabled, while also detailing key agendas and policies to be debated.

“This coordination ensures that every decision brought before the state assembly is based on thorough consideration, taking into account the people’s interests and Selangor’s development direction,” he said.
