SHAH ALAM, July 28 — A cloth that fell onto electrical wiring is believed to have caused a small fire involving the aluminium roof of the Mid Valley Komuter Station yesterday evening.
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department's Operations Control Centre (PGO) said it received an emergency call at 6.43 pm, before a team from the Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), together with a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT), was dispatched to the scene.
Operations Commander Senior Fire Officer I Zakaria Shaari said preliminary investigations found that the cloth caught fire after coming into contact with the electrical wiring before the flames spread to the station's aluminium roof, Berita Harian reported.
"When firefighters arrived, the fire had already extinguished itself. No casualties were reported, and the fire did not cause any damage to the building's structure," he said in a statement.
Earlier, photos and videos of the incident went viral on social media after members of the public shared footage of the small fire on the station's roof.
