SHAH ALAM, July 27 — The Selangor Travel Fair (STF) 2026, held on July 25 and 26 at Central Market in Kuala Lumpur, attracted more than 50,000 visitors and generated over RM150,000 in sales, Tourism Selangor said today.
In a statement, the state agency said the strong turnout demonstrated the fair's effectiveness as a tourism promotion platform and a catalyst for the growth of Selangor's tourism industry.
The fair featured 40 exhibitors representing various tourism sectors, including theme parks, ecotourism, agritourism, heritage, gastronomy, hospitality and recreational attractions, providing visitors with a one-stop platform to explore destinations across the state.
State executive councillor for local government and tourism Dato' Ng Suee Lim said STF continues to play an important role in strengthening Selangor's tourism industry.
"STF is an important platform to strengthen tourism promotion efforts, showcase the diverse experiences available in Selangor and further reinforce the state's position as the most visited destination in Malaysia.
"This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to achieving the target of nine million tourists in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year (VSY) 2026," he said.

Tourism Selangor said this year's fair coincided with its Silver Jubilee celebration, marking 25 years of driving tourism industry growth, destination development and strategic collaborations.
Its chief executive officer, Chua Yee Ling, said the theme ‘Silver in Motion’ reflects the organisation's continued commitment to developing a sustainable and competitive tourism ecosystem.
"Over the past 25 years, Tourism Selangor has worked closely with industry players and strategic partners to develop tourism products, organise high-impact events and promote Selangor's unique offerings.
"As we celebrate this milestone, our focus remains on shaping the future of Selangor tourism and delivering meaningful experiences to both domestic and international visitors," she said.
Throughout the two-day event, visitors enjoyed cultural performances, traditional music showcases, creative workshops, videography sessions, free health screenings, interactive tourism experiences, live podcasts and exclusive travel promotions.
The event also featured performances by local artistes Wani Kayrie, Mohsein Kush, Puteri Haffira (Ella Junior), Hussain Jamalulhayat, Mamat Exists and Kumpulan Bob Sentuhan.
STF 2026 also marked the launch of the ‘Surprising Selangor Kan Ada’ theme song and its accompanying music video as part of efforts to promote the state through creative and community-focused initiatives.
Tourism Selangor said Selangor remained Malaysia's most visited state in 2025, recording 36.4 million domestic visitors for the fifth consecutive year, underscoring tourism's significant contribution to the state's economy.
