SHAH ALAM, July 23 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected to affect eight states, including Selangor, as well as Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya until 3pm today.
In a statement, the department said seven districts in Selangor are expected to be affected: Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang.
The other affected states are Penang, Melaka and Pahang, where thunderstorms are forecast in the Rompin district.
In Kedah, the affected districts are Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu.
Meanwhile, Kerian and Larut, Matang and Selama in Perak are also expected to experience thunderstorms, along with Seremban, Port Dickson, Rembau and Tampin in Negeri Sembilan.
The department also forecast similar weather conditions in Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat and Kluang in Johor.
