SHAH ALAM, July 21 — All venues for the Malaysian Games (SUKMA) Selangor 2026 are ready, with organisers only needing to put finishing touches and perform minor repairs before the tournament kicks of next month, said SUKMA Secretariat chief executive officer Datuk Yazid Sairi.
“We are only performing finishing works or improvement touches before (the venues are ready),” he said when met by Media Selangor after the launch of the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) Hockey Stadium today.
He said these finishing touches involve minor maintenance and overall checks to ensure facilities at each venue is in optimal shape before athletes from all over the nation arrive in Selangor.

SUKMA will be held from August 15 to 24 with 469 events in 37 sports, while Para SUKMA will be held from September 5 to 14 with 316 events in 10 sports.
The nation’s biggest sports tournament will see contingents from all states as well as Brunei as a guest.
Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced that Dataran Kemerdekaan has been chosen as the venue for the SUKMA Selangor 2026 opening ceremony.
