SHAH ALAM, July 20 — Jobs and career development was among the focuses of the Youth Speaks @ Cuppa With Community Leaders discussion, joined by state executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman, in Kuala Langat.
In a Facebook post today, he said the event, organised by the Kuala Langat Municipal Council’s (MPKL) Zone 6 branch of the Selangor Youth Movement (PeBS), gave youth space to voice their concerns.
“This programme is a really good platform for me to hear for myself the views, recommendations and hopes of young people about jobs, youth development, entrepreneurship, and current issues that affect the people,” Papparaidu said.
He added that his active involvement in dialogues like this is important to ensure government initiatives and policies suit youth’s real needs.
He expressed his appreciation to MPKL Zone 6 PeBS chairman Gnaneaswary Sivabalan, MPKL Zone 6 councillor Tan Wee King, and the participants who made the programme a success.
Papparaidu said he hopes more programmes like this are held, to strengthen leader-youth relationships and support the more progressive, prosperous development of the Banting state constituency.
