SHAH ALAM, July 13 — A woman died after the car she was travelling in was involved in a hit-and-run accident along Kilometre 298.9 of the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway yesterday.
Two other male victims were also reported to be injured.
Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the 5.45am accident involved two vehicles.
The driver of a brown Perodua Bezza, carrying two passengers, is believed to have suddenly lost control of the vehicle before skidding to the right side of the road and crashed into the metal barrier.
"Then a white car came from behind and hit the Perodua Bezza before fleeing the scene. As a result of the collision, the 27-year-old female passenger in the Perodua Bezza died at the scene.
“The 20-year-old male driver and another 22-year-old male passenger from the same car were injured and are being treated in the red zone and yellow zone of the Serdang Hospital," he said in a statement yesterday.
Naazron added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The police are tracking down the driver of a white car who fled after crashing into the Perodua Bezza.

"The police advise road users to practice prudent driving, always obey road rules and always be careful while driving," he said.
