SHAH ALAM, July 8 — A local man who trespassed into a house in Taman Tun Teja, Rawang, in an incident captured in a viral video, was charged at the Selayang Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Gombak district police chief ACP Ibrahim Husin said police received a report from a local woman at 7.49pm on Monday (July 6) regarding an unknown man's intrusion into her house.
An investigation revealed that the suspect trespassed into the house at 5.15pm on the same day while the complainant was in her kitchen, prompting her to contact the police for assistance.
A patrol vehicle from the Rawang police station was deployed and successfully arrested the suspect near the scene at 11.30pm.
He said an investigation paper was opened and completed before being referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office.
“On July 7, 2026, at approximately 10am, the suspect was charged at the Selayang Magistrate’s Court under Section 448 of the Penal Code, which provides for a prison sentence of up to three years, or a fine of up to RM5,000, or both,” Ibrahim said in a statement last night.
He advised the public to take safety precautions, such as always keeping their doors locked when at home, to prevent such incidents.
The police will continue to conduct patrols to curb similar crimes in the area.
