BANTING, July 7 — The victim of yesterday’s knife attack at a school here will be discharged soon from Banting Hospital after surgery, said state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari.
Anfaal, along with Banting Hospital director Dr Malindawati Mohd Fadzil, confirmed the victim is stable, conscious, and able to sit up and eat.
“Dr Malinda, the hospital director, has informed (us) that the operation has been performed, (the patient) is stable, and needs about a week to recover.
“God willing, if conditions permit, they will allow the patient to be discharged from the hospital,” she told Media Selangor after visiting the victim at the hospital today.
Anfaal voiced hope that the Selangor Social Welfare Department (JKM) will provide the necessary post-hospitalisation aid and crisis support to aid in the victim’s recovery.
Media Selangor yesterday reported that a girl had been injured after allegedly being stabbed by an attacker at a Banting school.
While security was visibly tightened at the school, with guards stationed at the entrance and directing traffic flow, parents are pressing for stricter checks to protect students and staff.
