JOHOR BAHRU, July 7 — A total of 64 early voting centres for the 16th Johor state election opened at 8 am today, enabling 24,751 members of the security forces and their spouses to fulfil their responsibilities.
According to Election Commission (EC) statistics, 12,041 members of the Malaysian Armed Forces and their spouses will cast their ballots at 11 designated polling centres.
The remaining 12,710 voters, comprising Royal Malaysia Police personnel, General Operations Force members, and their spouses, are scheduled to cast their votes at 53 polling centres.
All polling centres will close in stages according to the set EC schedule, from 12pm to 6pm today.
A Bernama survey found that weather conditions in several districts, including Batu Pahat, Muar, Pontian, and Tangkak, were sunny.
On Saturday (July 11), approximately 2.7 million ordinary voters in 56 state seats will cast their ballots.
