SHAH ALAM, July 6 — The Malaysian Games (SUKMA) and Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 have drawn RM8 million in contributions from 17 private and state government subsidiary sponsors for the nation’s largest sporting event.
State executive councillor for youth, sports and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said the amount involves cash and in-kind contributions that won’t just supplement SUKMA planning, but boost Malaysia’s sports development and ecosystem to produce excellent athletes.
He said Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, is a platinum-level sponsor along with Nestlé Malaysia Bhd-MILO and Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB), with an overall sponsorship worth RM4 million.
“The organisation of this SUKMA is under controlled financial circumstances. In the early stages, the state approved RM100 million to plan SUKMA, but due to several constraints, the allocation was decreased by 50 per cent.
“We didn’t receive any financial contribution from the Youth and Sports Ministry, which is why we greatly appreciate contributions from state government subsidiaries and corporate and private firms that are assisting with the organisation of this SUKMA,” he added at the SUKMA XXII and Para SUKMA Selangor 2026 Sponsors and Patrons’ Meet-and-Greet Ceremony here today.

The Selangor Utility Corridor (KUSEL) and Infrasel Sdn Bhd, both having contributed RM500,000, are gold-level sponsors along with sports equipment company Mesuma Sport Sdn Bhd (Marathon) and facility providers Setia City Convention Centre and Ideal Convention Centre.
Besides that, sports goods supplier Yonex-Sunrise Sport Sdn Bhd and Airbnb Singapore Pte Ltd are silver-level sponsors, while Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd, Asia Pacific Sports Sdn Bhd, Wyndham Acmar Hotel Klang, dan KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd are bronze-level sponsors.
“Thank you to all organisers. SUKMA has also received support especially from local authorities, which play an important role in providing facilities statewide.
“Same with the patrons for each sporting event. Besides financial aid to associations, they also provide moral support to athletes,” Najwan said.
SUKMA Selangor will see 469 events in 37 sports from August 15 to 24, while Para SUKMA will feature 316 events in 10 sports from September 5 to 14.
