MEXICO CITY, July 6 — The Mexico v England World Cup round of 16 match was delayed by one hour due to adverse weather conditions around the Azteca Stadium this morning.
The game had been scheduled to kick off at 6 pm local time (8 am in Malaysia), but FIFA postponed the start after issuing a shelter-in-place order because of thunderstorms in the area earlier in the day.
World football's governing body had decided on Friday to keep the scheduled kick-off time despite concerns that the weather could force changes.
