JOHOR BAHRU, July 4 — Johoreans need leaders and representatives who are cognisant of priorities, have the courage to make decisions, and truly understand the people, said Pakatan Harapan chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said the bloc will carry the people’s voices, defend the state’s interests, and drive Johor’s prosperity.
He also called on the Harapan machinery to work hard to ensure candidates’ victory in the 16th Johor election.
“We want to elect representatives and leaders who represent the interests of the people in Johor, the people of Malaysia, Malays, Chinese, Indians work together, build this nation, raise this state to be great,” he said in a Facebook video today.
Anwar kicked off his first day of campaigning in Johor for Harapan, attending seven events to meet the people and provide support to Harapan candidates.
In this election, Harapan is fielding candidates in all 56 state constituencies, including 20 Keadilan candidates, 19 Amanah candidates, and 17 from DAP.
A total of 172 candidates are contesting the 56 seats.
Polling day is set for July 11, while early voting is on July 7.
