SHAH ALAM, July 4 — The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) has reminded property owners to settle their second-term assessment rates by August 31 to avoid penalties.
In a statement today, the local authority said property owners may check and pay their assessment tax on various platforms like iComm MPAJ, the JomPay app, or at counters and kiosks on Level 4 of Menara MPAJ.
The council said that as of May 31, it has collected current assessment rates worth RM47.2 million (91.23 per cent of first-term target) and RM10.7 million in arrears (53.47 per cent of first-term target).
“Current collections declined by RM1.9 million, or 3.94 per cent, compared with the same period last year.
“However, arrears collected rose by RM2.9 million, or 37.01 per cent, for an overall increased collection of RM973,000, or 1.71 per cent, from 2025.
“For this year, MPAJ is aiming to collect assessment rates worth RM103 million, while arrears to be collected are estimated to be RM20.1 million,” it said.
On June 20, MPAJ’s Negotiations and Payments Unit of its Revenue Department held talks with Taman Tun Abdul Razak property owners with arrears.
“Twenty-eight properties with arrears of more than RM10,000 were visited, with the overall arrears at RM492,538.24.
“From that amount, seven vacant houses with total arrears of RM164,048.21 were identified,” it added.
