KUALA LUMPUR, July 3 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received a farewell courtesy visit from outgoing Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Mohd Uzir Mahidin today, ahead of his mandatory retirement on Wednesday (July 8).
He expressed his appreciation for Uzir’s service and dedication in strengthening the national statistical system, which serves as a key foundation for policymaking and Malaysia’s development planning.
In a Facebook post, Anwar also shared photos of the visit, noting that Uzir was appointed Chief Statistician on February 14, 2017.
Uzir, who holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Sheffield, the United Kingdom, joined the Malaysian Statistics Department in 1990.
