Businessman charged with being member of Geng RT6 organised crime group

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 — A businessman was charged in the Sessions Court today with being a member of an organised crime group known as Geng RT6 since 2020.

S. Ashok Kumar, 50, nodded in understanding after the charge was read out to him before Judge Muhammad Ilmami Ahmad.

No plea was recorded from the accused as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

He is accused of being a member of the Geng RT6 organised crime group in Sentul from January 14, 2020, to April 27, 2026.

The charge, under Section 130V(1) of the Penal Code, carries a minimum jail term of five years and a maximum of 20 years upon conviction.

The court did not grant bail and set August 3 for mention to submit documents.

Deputy Public Prosecutors Lokman Kasim and Yazid Mustaqim Roslan appeared for the prosecution, while the accused was represented by lawyer Revin Kumar.

On May 25, 11 men aged between 22 and 48 were charged in the Sessions Court with the same offence.

They are A. Raja Ratanam, K. Sunthreson, C. Vijaya Kumar, N. Nadarajah, T. Raman, R. Vijayan, M. Kumaaran, N. Harichandran, S. Maran, Suwaran Singh Minder Singh, and Mohammad Atif Khan Mohammad Ali Khan.

It was reported that the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department had crippled a drug trafficking syndicate known as Geng RT through actions taken under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012.

Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the syndicate is believed to have been active in drug processing, trafficking, and violent crimes around the Klang Valley since 2020.
