SHAH ALAM, June 26 — An illegal structure built on government land next to Sri Impian Apartment in Ukay Perdana was torn down by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) yesterday morning.
In a Facebook post today, MPAJ’s Building and Architecture Department said the 10am operation revealed the structure was built without its approval.
“Action was taken to enforce building compliance laws, curb construction without approval in (our) administrative area, and maintain public safety,” the council said.
It added that the structure was demolished to protect government land and ensure systematic and safe development.
MPAJ said it would ramp up monitoring and enforcement so all developments adhere to its regulations and to ensure public well-being.
