SHAH ALAM, June 24 — Personal issues are believed to be among the motives behind the death of a foreign woman whose body was found with multiple injuries at a condominium in Bandar Sunway, Petaling Jaya, yesterday.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said preliminary investigations found that, apart from emotional problems, financial issues involving daily expenses were also believed to be factors in the incident.
“The suspect and the victim were students at the same private higher education institution. They were believed to have been in a relationship and lived together.
"Investigations are still ongoing,” he said during a media conference at the Selangor police contingent headquarters today.
Shazeli added that the police believe no other suspects were involved in the incident, apart from the foreign man in his 20s who was arrested at the scene yesterday.
“However, we are not ruling out any possibilities until investigations are completed,” he said.
The police have also seized the suspected murder weapon used in the crime, and an autopsy will be conducted today.
Yesterday, a foreign woman, in her 20s, was found dead with multiple injuries on her body at a condominium in Bandar Sunway.
Petaling Jaya deputy police chief Supt M. Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly said they received information about the incident at 11.03am and arrested a foreign man, in his 20s, at the scene to assist in the investigation.
In a separate development, Shazeli said investigations into a delivery rider in connection with the theft of a wallet at a supermarket in Semenyih have yet to be fully completed.
The Deputy Public Prosecutor has issued several instructions to ensure that the investigation papers into the case, which has gone viral on social media, can be completed.
The media previously reported that a delivery rider who had been detained to assist in investigations into a wallet theft case at a supermarket in Semenyih was released on police bail yesterday.
