SHAH ALAM, June 23 — Police have arrested a local man for allegedly assaulting and threatening his ex-wife at a public parking lot outside the Bandar Baru Bangi police station on Sunday.
Kajang district police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said the suspect, a Grab driver in his 20s, was arrested by Kajang District Police Headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Department personnel at 6.20pm yesterday.
He said the arrest followed a police report lodged on June 21 at 2.51pm about the assault, which was captured on video and went viral on Threads.
The suspect will be brought to the Bandar Baru Bangi court today for a remand application.
The case is being investigated under Sections 323 and 506 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
