SHAH ALAM, June 20 — The state government’s MySel programme has helped 2,342 people with various identification document issues from when it was launched in 2018 up till December 2025, said state executive councillor for human resources and poverty eradication Papparaidu Veraman.
He said this achievement reflects Selangor’s commitment to ensuring each citizen has proper papers to allow them to enjoy their rights and facilities as Malaysians.
“Today we celebrate 100 recipients of the MySel programme that have gained their identification documents.
“This success may seem small to some, but for recipients and their families, it has great meaning because it opens doors to various new opportunities in their lives,” he added when launching a celebration for MySel benefactors at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building here today.

Papparaidu said that from 2018 to December 2025, MySel received 5,852 applications for various identification documents, 2,342 of which have been resolved with the help of the state government, National Registration Department, Immigration Department, and various other agencies.
He added that citizenship applications made up the highest number of applications at 1,716 cases, followed by adoption declarations with 1,447 applications, and birth certificates at 1,185 applications.
In terms of approvals, the highest number was recorded in the citizenship category with 774 cases, followed by the adoption category with 711 cases, birth certificates with 398 cases, red MyKad with 296 cases, and immigration issues with 163 cases.

Papparaidu also said that 2025 saw the highest success rate, with 1,130 cases resolved compared with only 389 in 2024.
He said this uptick reflects the state government’s effective efforts to help people with documentation issues that affect their access to education, employment, government aid, and various basic facilities.
“Each document (issued) isn’t just a piece of paper or identity card; it is a key to various opportunities that could change an individual’s life and their family’s,” Papparaidu added.
