SHAH ALAM, June 16 — Placemaking Denai Hijau @ Lengkok Golf SS7, a green corridor project in Kelana Jaya, will be completed by October, said the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
In a Facebook post yesterday, it said the project aims to provide more sustainable, comfortable and inclusive public spaces for the local community.
To ensure the project goes smoothly, MBPJ held an engagement session with the community on Sunday to obtain residents’ feedback on the project’s design suggestions.
“Ten design suggestions were presented by undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Faculty of Built Environment, University Teknologi MARA (UiTM), for evaluation before the best design is chosen for the project,” it said.
According to MBPJ, UiTM is a strategic partner of the project.
Placemaking Denai Hijau @ Lengkok Golf SS7 involves transforming the storm drain reserve there into an urban green corridor that is safer and more user-friendly.
Also present at the engagement session were MBPJ Development Planning Department senior deputy director Nazihah Jaafar, MBPJ Zone 22 councillor Mohamed Hamka Mohamed Jumah, Lengkok Golf SS7 neighbourhood watch chairman Datuk Lamien Sawiyo, and UiTM Faculty of Built Environment student affairs vice-dean Prof Yusfida Ayu Abdullah.
