SHAH ALAM, June 9 — A “foreigner flat” alleged to have been illegally built in Kampung Kenangan, Hulu Langat, was raided last year, with 42 undocumented migrants arrested, said Kajang police.
The district contingent was responding to a 47-second video of a building depicting foreigners that had gone viral on Facebook.
According to a statement issued today by Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof, the raid under Ops Kutip was conducted on February 28, 2025, by Kajang police and Selangor Immigration Department, during which 35 men, three women, two boys, and two girls were arrested for their lack of valid travel documents.
“All those arrested were investigated by the Immigration Department under Section 51(3)(a) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 and detained at an Immigration Depot under Section 51(5)(b) of the same act,” he said.
The district police chief added that a summons to witness and a search warrant under Section 51(1) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 had been issued to a local man who claimed to be the son of the building homeowner to assist in the investigation.
Naazron said enforcement would continue, and urged those with tip-offs to call 999 or the Kajang District Control Centre at 03-89114243.
